High Resolution Files for Large Format Prints

1. Photography with a 4x5 film view camera
2. Film to digital - High resolution drum scan, at 4000 PPI - with Aztek Premier Drum Scanner
3. Output to TIFF or PSB file, & basic spotting
4. File delivered on DVD (too large for CD)

• a 4x5 scanned at 4000 PPI delivers a 1.6 Gigabyte file
• High resolution digital files can be downsized to smaller pixel dimensions without quality loss, and used for web, email, or small graphic use.
  

Medium & Low Resolution Files

1. Digital capture with a Canon 20D at 8.1MP
2. Post processing digitally in Adobe Lightroom
3. Output to JPEG, PSD, TIFF, and/or web-optimized JPEG
4. File(s) burned to CD

• These files are best for websites, emails, postcards, ads and small prints.
• Low or medium resolution files cannot be successfully up-sized for large sized prints.
